Policy: Committee members and the Graduate Program Director must give evidence that a graduate student has completed a public defense. Once Defense Approval is obtained, the written project documents must be uploaded to the UIW Library repository, "The Athenaeum". Written scholarly documents for theses (Masters) and doctoral (PhD) degrees are required. Capstone project papers are encouraged.
Requirements: A complete draft document in .docx format must be attached to this form. Submitting the document to The Athenaeum will initiate format review, which should be completed by the clearance submission deadline.
A single account in The Athenaeum is all that is required. Please do not create multiple accounts!

Format Review Completion:
- March 1 for a May degree conferral
- July 1 for an August degree conferral
- October 1 for a December degree conferral
Clearance Submission:
- March 1 for a May degree conferral
- July 1 for an August degree conferral
- October 1 for a December degree conferral
Clearance Completion:
- April 1 for a May degree conferral
- August 1 for an August degree conferral
- November 1 for a December degree conferral
