  • Time Limit for Completion of Master’s Programs
    After admission, all requirements for the master’s degree must be completed within seven (7) years. 

    Time Limit for Completion of Doctoral Programs
    After admission, all requirements for the doctoral degree must be completed within ten (10) years of the date on which the degree is conferred. Some doctoral programs may define a shorter time limit.

    Note: The time to complete the degree begins the term and year you enrolled in your first class in the degree program. The clock DOES NOT PAUSE if you temporarily sit out a few semesters or are on an approved leave of absence.

    If you have completed all course credits, you must register for 6010 (Masters) or 7010 (Doctoral/PhD) to meet continuous enrollment requirements for your degree program.

    Programs with a thesis, dissertation, or doctoral project must complete the final document and complete Clearance before degree conferral.
